Put out some Decorative Throw Pillows
"Are you proud of your decorative throw pillows?"
Put decorative throw pillows on your couch and you will instantly transform your drab living room into a luxury room that would rival a suite at the Marriott, right? Well, that’s not exactly the case, but if you really invest some time and energy into finding the right type (and don’t search too hard for a cheap discount), you can really make your home or an apartment into a modern looking place.
It helps to have an idea what kind of decorations are already in your living area. If you have a contemporary style room, then obviously you wouldn’t want to run out and get some oversized country style pillows. Or if you have a room that’s predominantly leather, would it make sense to put cotton accent cases or a silk cover out? Would you put goose down pillows in a tapestry pattern? No, it wouldn’t really make sense. However, if you have a mixture of pieces in the room you want to spice up, it might be a little more difficult to rule out the bad looking options.
That’s why I always recommend people take a picture of the space they want to fix up, and bring it to the store. Then you can match colors like white, red, green, and blue up with the picture to see what it might look like in the room. If you’re going for a custom type, this can still be helpful as it will guide the creators to design things to your exact specifications.
As for the stuffing, don’t stress out too much. You are looking for decorative throw pillows, are you not? It shouldn’t matter how they feel. Well, that’s not entirely true. In fact, the stuffing can affect how the pillow looks when it sits on a couch or chair. The last thing you want to have to do is get a restuff, so pay attention. Also, figure out how to wash the dang thing before you put it into a washer or dryer. Many people have destroyed their cushions by not reading about the material.
